Innoactive releases Creator 2.0 under open-source license

Innoactive invites enterprises and XR studios to use and grow the open-source community edition of its Unity-based Innoactive Creator, a toolkit trusted by enterprises such as the Volkswagen Group, BSH (Bosch Siemens Home Appliances), Lufthansa and others.

Munich, GER (April 23, 2020) – Innoactive, Europe’s leading VR training software startup, announces its open-source version of their Virtual Reality (VR) training authoring toolkit, Innoactive Creator. The toolkit caters to industrial enterprises and XR studios, enabling them to standardize and scale the creation of real-time VR training applications collaboratively.

“For the Linde Virtual Academy users, it is crucial to have a standard UI/UX in every VR training we offer as we scale. The Innoactive Creator enables us to create reusable templates which can be used and extended by our partner studios to deliver high quality VR scenarios without jeopardizing the standards.” says Feras Alhothali, Innovation Manager at Linde Plantserv® part of the Linde Group.

Developed in close collaboration with Audi and other enterprise customers, the Unity-based toolkit empowers training designers to create fully immersive process-based training simulations without any programming skills. They start with a base template that pre-defines the style of the training, then simply add the training steps and specifications in a visual editor, within a few hours. This base template is fully customizable and extensible by code and is the core element that enables enterprises to standardize their training apps. Not only do they get to reuse features and code across projects, they can also flexibly extend their templates whenever process variations or new requirements emerge.

„Our goal at AeroGround with this VR Platform is to bring best practice training skills to all ground handlers out there, which we developed together with our partner Fraport Ground Services. The Innoactive Creator enables us to easily adapt the VR training scenarios to fit the process variations of the different operators and airlines.” says Christian Stoschek, Managing Director at AeroGround Flughafen München GmbH at Munich Airport.

Typically, enterprises create VR training apps in strong collaboration with XR studios. The Innoactive Creator enhances this collaboration by allowing them to jointly develop a template and use it as a base for all the subsequent training apps.

“It’s so much easier to align with our customers on a template, then implement the training logic and be sure the result will meet the expectations. We are much more efficient, with less iterations required, and high reusability of code across our projects. This is exactly what the XR world needs right now – more industrialization on usages that have proven their ROI.”, says Guillaume Taccoen, Innovation Manager at On-X Group, one of Innoactive’s trusted partners.

The community edition offered as an open-source version of the Innoactive Creator is an invitation addressed to XR studios and enterprises to benefit from the current features and contribute to a communal effort to set the standards for process-based VR training and to scale the production of such content. All interested parties can visit Innoactive’s website to get access to the software, documentation and webinars.
